Having seen it at the ripe old age of 15 when it first came out I fell in love with it and immediately made my father take me to the mall so I could buy a cassette tape of the soundtrack. Now at 40 I still absolutely live it. Sure it's nostalgic for me but this reimagining of Shakespeare's Emma still feels fresh and relevant. The comedy is as potent as ever and the performances are spot on from a doofy and missed Brittany Murphy (Just Married) to a charming Paul Rudd (Ant Man) and a wonderfully charasmatic Alicia Silverstone (The Crush) and more. The soundtrack still rocks as does the clever and inventive screenplay and direction from Amy Hecklering (Loser. The movie is undeniably a classic.

This is something that you can just watch and don't have to remember a single thing about it. br> Its funny and its fresh, it has no political/religous/moral over/undertones and you can watch it without feeling guilty for something that you did/didn't do today. This movie is just about having fun and also for taking the mick outta the kids in the states who have life easy so you can feel good about yourself.
This movie however is totally fab and i love it, i love Cher and everyone else in this movie, if i knew somebody like this in real life i would probably hit them repeatly so that i could knock some sense into them, but they are nice enuff that they're online. Watch this and just feel good about yourself 0= Thats all you need to do really.
I love the scene where Regina is wearing sweatpants at lunch, and honestly where she became one of my favorite characters It was the first time her insecurity was made obvious in a way I could relate. Now, dont get me wrong Regina is a bitch, but she does have her good qualities. I believe Reginas bitchyness is from her hiding her insecurity. When Regina storms from the school because everyone hated her, it was made obvious that she was upset. Earlier, when Regina is at the lunch table wearing sweatpants, she is obviously upset because sweatpants were the only thing that fit her, but when the other plastics still dismiss her, Regina immediately turns into a bitch, way too quickly for the emotion change to not have been practiced. Another of her redeeming qualities, is that she cares for her friends, at least on some level. When the Plastics and Cadie are at the mall and they see one of the plastics dates with another girl, Regina gets revenge FOR her friend, but she didnt expect anything in return.
